Update on the LPL WSOP Promotion - Week 3

Well we are now into week three of this and.... JarjarUK is at the top of the leaderboard with 2214 points - !!! Danarama is in 2nd place with 1995 points, so it's not looking too bad at the moment......

I would like to be in the top 8 by the end of September as the top 8 get to play in the Regions Cup A Team - even better, if I was to finish at the top of the leaderboard at the end of September, I would be Captain of the A Team!!!!

Will keep the blog updated with news as it happens.

Live Poker league - Win a trip to the WSOP 2007

I am playing in the Live Poker League WSOP 2007 Competition. It's being run in Bath, Bristol, Groucester, and Weston Super Mare.

For the next three months I will be playing in the league 5 nights a week to try and amass enough points (only the top 15 from Bath ((my home region)) will qualify, as will the top 15 from Weston, Bristol, etc) to be invited to the final in January 2007, venue not decided yet, but probably one of the casino's in Birmingham.

The top 70 people (15 from each region) will play in the final and if you are lucky/good enough to get down to the final 3, all 3 of those peole will be given a seat in the $1500 event at the WSOP 2007 and another $1000 towards flights and hotels....... Awesome!!!

So I am going all out to make sure I am in the top 15 once the three months are up and I really want to be in that final in Birmingham.

Anyone else playing in the LPL?

4 games have been played so far. Two at Filo's on Sunday, where I finished 5th and 17th (bubbled as only the top 16 get points). I finished 9th at Filo's on Monday and 8th at The Assembly last night; tuesday 5th September. so I believe that puts me on about 950 points which will be in the top 7 on the leaderboard so far - so not too bad a start to the three months.

I will keep you posted on how I do.

Danarama is current leaderboard leader...... He came 4th and 16th on Sunday, 2nd on Monday but failed to place on tuesday. It puts him on about 1200 points at the moment. Danarama is not happy with finishing inside the top 15 - only 1st place on the leaderboard will be good enough, and he will be playing every game to make sure he stays on top.

Will keep this blog updated with how we both get on.

Good luck to anyone else playing in the LPL WSOP promotion.

APAT UK Amatuer Championships

JarjarUK got a seat!!!!

Only 120 seat available for the UK Amatuer Championships on the 23rd and 24th September in Birmingham and I got given one of them - I'm very excited about it and really looking forward to playing. I have paid my £75 and have been given poker.co.uk polo shirts to wear for the event by the chap who owns poker.co.uk, so lets hope I put up a good showing!!

Danarama is 19th on the reserve list, so if 19 people from the main list don't pay in time then he will get a seat - fingers crossed.

He's coming anyway, he will be rail bird, or more likely he will be playing side games with the rest of the lads and lasses from Punters Lounge who have gone along to supposrt their other halves to got a seat.

Have booked a hotel, we are staying at the City Inn, its only about a 5 minute walk from the casino and looks lovely - just hope I'm still in on day two to warrant booking a hotel for day one.... lol.

Anyway, well done to everyone who made it in the the event, bad luck to those who didn't and fingers crossed for people on the reserve list.

See you in Birmingham,

Alex

Poker Stars Bloggers Tournament

Hoorah.... It seems Danarama is definitely playing in the poker Stars Bloggers Tourny. I am listed in the entrants list, so that can only be good.

I hope to see all my fellow bloggers at the tables on the 18th june. Good luck all :-)

$15k Guaranteed Tourny

Danarama played in a $15k guaranteed tourny at the weekend on Party Poker. It was only a $6 buy in and best of all - it was afreezeout...!!! :-)

There were 2700 people entered and it started at 8pm. Well Dan finally finished playing at 1.15am in 4th place - $900 richer. The downside of that is the exchange rate on party poker, it seems that it is only £468 when converted..... seems a bit stingy in my view, but hey - its not a bad result!!!!

Plus, we were playing with their money!! They had emailed us a few days before and said that because we hadn't been on their site for a while, that they had put $40 in our account - no requirements, no raked hands required, it was just there...... result.

Save The Stardust...!!!

Save The Stardust....!!!

One of the oldest and most characteristic hotels in Vegas. It is due to be imploded in October; it won't be there when we're there for Christmas.

If they actually do it, it will be a crime

Tournament Final

Played in the Live Poker League final last night in Weston Super Mare...... 60 people in total. 4k starting chips, but I was down to about 2k after an hour, sue to one bad beat and one piece of stupid play!

Anyway, I then proceeded to get dealt the most poket pairs I have seen in one night. I had A-A, Q-Q (three times), 10-10, 9-9, 8-8, 3-3 and 2-2... it was quite spooky. So I managed to get back to about 9.5k.

A chap who had been bullying for a lost of the evening and was consequently chip leader with about 12k, went all in (on my big blind), I looked down to see A-K and even before it got back round to my bet, I had decided to was going to call.

He turned over 7-7 and I turned my A-K over, but nothing came out on the flop that helped me at all, so alas, that was the end of the poker final for me.

A great evening though, and lots of fun.

Virgin Freeroll

Oh well..... I won't be going to the World Series by the looks of it... :-(

I played in the Virgin Bloggers Freeroll last night, but unfortunately didn't win. A big congrats to Moface who did though, and good luck to him in Vegas.

After the first break, I was slightly below average stack with about £4k in chips and got dealt
A-K of spades in the big blind, so pushed all in. I got one caller with A-J, and guess what...... he got a J on the turn and took me out.

It was a great tourny though, a good experience and I really enjoyed it. Thanks Vigin and PL.
